The Team

Kate Kincaid, CMHC (she/her)

Kate Kincaid, CMHC (she/her)

I studied at the Kinsey Institute- a renowned school for the study of sexuality and gender. This lead me to specializing in counseling LGBTQIA2S+ people, as well as people in alternative relationship models (ethical non-monogamy/polyamory). As a new mother, I’m passionate about working with people experiencing perinatal and postpartum issues.

My therapeutic style is informed by intersectional feminism and social justice, seeking to collectively dismantle systems of violence and oppression. I believe many of the dis-ease in our lives is rooted in a normal response to a broken system that is then pathologized and stigmatized. I believe any problematic behavior is a symptom of a deeper-rooted problem that needs to be addressed rather than the cause of the concern. I have an eclectic and intuitive approach that invites collaboration with the inner healing intelligence of everyone I work with.

My approach is to address the core negative self-beliefs (often established in early childhood) that adversely impact one’s relationship with self and others. I believe that given an accepting, affirming, and nonjudgmental space, people can gain the courage to remember their own inherent worth, reclaim their inner wisdom and empower themselves to make changes. In my work, I often discuss the systems in which we are all operating in, how they impact us and how we might impact them. I am also passionate about psychedelic assisted therapy and view these medicines as sacred tools that can help us gain new insights into ourselves, the world around us, and help generate a future where we are all free.

Carina Nation, ACHMC (she/her)

Carina Nation, ACHMC (she/her)

I am Park City native who graduated from Liberty University with my Master’s Degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling.

I have experience working with Active-Duty Military and their families from when I worked at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. While working with our service members, I gained an understanding of the importance of incorporating the mind/body connection into therapy. I also have experience working with adolescents, given I worked at a Montessori school in Park City before transitioning into working as a therapist full-time. While working with this population, I learned the importance of establishing a foundational emotional awareness from childhood. I have many ties to the LGBTQAI+ population in Utah and I’m passionate about holding a safe place for those individuals to learn and grow. I am fluent in Cued Speech and can communicate with the Deaf population, I wear a Cochlear Implant and have a passion for bridging the gap between the Deaf and hearing population when it comes to therapy.

I completed my training through the Clinical Yoga Institute, which encourages mindfulness practices in therapy sessions by bringing Yogic breathing techniques that clients can use to self-regulate outside of their sessions. I am excited to continue my training with Ketamine-Assisted Therapy and hope to expand my research on ways to assist individuals with PTSD and trauma. I have specialized training in A.R.T. (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and I’m pursuing training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.
